Overview
Overview
The AS01366-01 Compact RS232 to DeviceNet™ Serial Gateway is housed in a 21/2 x 31/4 inch plastic housing with mounting tabs. A 5-pin micro connector provides the DeviceNet™ interface and a 9-pin D connector provides the RS232 interface. Supplied DeviceNet™ power is conditioned by a loss-of-ground protection and the RS232 serial channel is fully isolated from DeviceNet™ power. The AS01366-0x may be used to interface peripheral devices to a DeviceNet™ system. The RS232 serial stream is internally buffered, allowing a Master node to send and receive data using standard DeviceNet™ poll, or explicit messaging. The AS01366-01 replaces the CDN366 and is backwards-compatible. AS01366-01 provides advanced processing features over the CDN466-5 including parsing of complex serial packet and data type conversion. The AS01366-01 can process serial packets of up to 128 data bytes.
